ARE YOU THE REASON FOR THE SEASON OR JESUS?

I was led to reflect on what transpired when Jesus was born and the significance of the roles played by some personalities during the birth of Jesus.

ANGEL GABRIEL

Angel Gabriel was the one who delivered the message to Mary about God's intention for her to carry Jesus in her womb. It is important to note that Angels have 'WILL'. Angel Gabriel could have refused being the messenger just like Lucifer disobeyed God in heaven when he was an Angel. But he did not disobey God but rather he delivered the message as he was instructed.

JOSEPH

Joseph accepted a pregnancy he was not responsible for. This was a difficult situation to accept. He obeyed God's voice to be the father of Jesus and made effort to take Jesus and Mary away from the Herod zone, to protect and save the life of baby Jesus.

MARY

Mary endured the shame of carrying a pregnancy that was not from her husband Joseph. People must have thought she cheated on her husband, as it was impossible to the society to understand how a spirit can make a woman pregnant. Mary must have experienced societal stigma, but the bible did not explain further what Mary went through emotionally, when Joseph made an attempt to abandon her.

KING HEROD

King Herod was the one satan used to attempt assassinating baby Jesus. Satan did not want our generation to be saved by Jesus, so he wanted baby Jesus dead. To achive his aim, he possessed King Herod with the spirit jealousy. So King Herod became jealous of the kingship of Jesus. He thought that Jesus was coming to  dethrone him as king.

THE INNOCENT BABIES IN JUDEA

Innocent babies who were born during the time of Jesus were victims of circumstance. They were all killed by King Herod, because Herod was trying to get to Jesus. Herod believed that if he order the random killing of children, he will have a good chance of terminating the life of Jesus.
These infant paid a heavy price. They were all killed because of baby Jesus.

THE THREE WISE MEN

The three wise men also played a vital role in the birth of baby Jesus. They had a google map of where baby Jesus was born, but they refused to share the google map with king Herod, because God warned them about King Herod's intention to assassinate baby Jesus.

In obedience to God, the three wise men redirected their google map to another route to avoid coming in contact with Herod who was desperate to know the location of Jesus.

LESSONS AND QUESTIONS:

1. Angel Gabriel delivered good news to Mary. What kind of errand are you running this Christmas season? What kind of message are you delivering like Angel Gabriel? Are delivering messages that will bring joy or kill the joy of Christmas? 

2.  Joseph stood in the Gap for God to protect baby Jesus even though he was not responsible for Mary's pregnancy. During this Christmas season, are you refusing to stand in the gap for God for something, simply because you were not responsible for it? Are you rejecting God's request even though you may not be the director beneficiary of what God is asking of you?

3.  Mary carried Jesus in her womb. Are you 'carrying' baby Jesus in your mind during this festive season, just like Mary carried 'Him' in her womb? What are you 'carrying' in your mind this christmas? Is it about the food, party, drinks, clothes, travels, hair, gifts or inflating prices of commodities to take advantage of panic buying of people this festive season? What actually are you carrying in your mind?

4. Herod killed babies because of Jesus. Are you killing people for money rituals to impress your family and friends this Christmas? Who did you sacrifice for money this festive season? Do you have intention of killing people who came back for Christmas holidays, simply because they succeeded more than you this season?

5.The three wise men chose not to go back to King Herod to disclose the location of baby Jesus. They chose to take another road and refused to go back to Herod. Which road part did you choose this Christmas? Is it a part that will save or destroy lives.

Your answers to these questions will show if actually Jesus is the reason for the season in your life.

THE HEART THAT INCUBATES EVIL: A MUST READ

Every evil agenda we intend to carry out, must have been conceived in our hearts and incubated for a while before we carry them out. This is why we say, 'out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaketh'. No matter how hard we try to hide evil agenda in our heart, it will someday hatch itself like an egg for everyone to see. So long as we keep incubating that evil agenda of ours in our heart, surely a day will come when the world will see the evil agenda we have been nursing in our hearts. The heart is like the womb of a woman. It must deliver what it conceived, except if aborted prematurely. It is very funny that we always want people to notice us as good, but as soon as we carry out that hidden evil agenda, it no longer correlate with how good we want people to see us. THE THREE OLD MEN AND MY EXPERIENCE

A TRUE LIFE STORY EXPERIENCED BY BRO. ALIGWEKWE NNAMDI In a paticular church where i used to worship, there were three retired old men who always recieve special treatment, with particular reference to their sitting position in the church. Indeed they deserve such treatment because they are indeed very old, but at least can walk with their walking sticks. Their sitting positions were always arranged a day before sunday mass. Their looks shows that they may have been influencial poeple before their curent age. Just a guess anyways. It is obvious that these three old men must have seen or heard about the death of their age mates, as the clock ticks.
