ARE ALL VULNERABLE PEOPLE INNOCENT?

Not all vulnerable people are just before God. Being vulnerable is not an escape route away from God's judgement and punishment.

Vulnerability is a condition that should reawaken our consciousness of the need to run back to God as our shepherd and submit ourselves to 'Him' as 'His' sheep. Especially after 'He' has declared himself as our good shepherd in John 10:11 saying,

"I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep".

Vulnerability is not an endorsement that vulnerable people are good or innocent. The society often sees vulnerable people as innocent and most times grant them waiver whenever they commit crime all in the name of empathy.

It is godly to show empathy towards those who are vulnerable, because their condition is not a pleasant one and infact requires our attention. But unfortunately, the vulnerable are not always who we think they are even in their disadvantaged condition. This is because the vulnerable also want to break out from his vulnerable state and therefore can go to the extreme to do ugly things to have his way.

To confirm this inspirational teaching, let us remember that Eve was vulnerable or regarded as the weaker vessel in the Garden of Eden. She had the opportunity to run to God or wait for her husband Adam, who was a stronger vessel, but she made a choice to go against the rules God gave them concerning the forbiden fruit.

This means that the vulnerable are not always just or innocent as we always think they are. They sometimes hide under their vulnerable condition to carry out evil deeds. Unfortunately, when the carry out evil deeds, the society hardly believe that they are the ones that carried out such evil deed.

Vulnerability is not an endorsement that one is just or innocent. The truth is that vulnerable people will face their own judgement before God and will account for their own ungodly deeds.

Vulnerability is not a criteria to exempt people from God's judgement. Vulnerability is not a category of exhonerated people. Everyone will face God's judgement irrespective of his life conditions, because God is a just God.
